Vintage Golden Evans Lighter in Wooden Caddy Holder w/ Lid Montego Bay Jamaica ****************************************************** Vintage and hard-to-find Evans gold tone lighter in a wooden caddy case with lid. The caddy measures 4-3/4” high, 2-3/8” wide, and 2-1/2” deep. The case has a little brass medallion on the lid that is monogrammed with the initials R.B. There is another little brass piece on the front that looks like a faux keyhole. The bottom has green felt on it which is marked “Temple Galleries, Montego Bay, Jamaica BWI (?)”. Inside is a removable Evans gold finish metal lighter, made in the USA. Unmarked save for the USA designation, and the fuel filler port marked “Evans Fuel”. Condition of the lighter is used, good. The striker wheel turns and even with a new flint it does not spark. When the lighter assembly is in the caddy, the lid doesn’t go all the way shut due to the thumb striker sticking up a bit. When the lighter is removed the lid shuts flush. The metal has some scratches (mostly on the bottom) and a little soil up in the crevices by the strike assembly. No damage to the hinges. The felt on the bottom is worn in places. The brass medallion on the top of the caddy is darkened with age and no longer shiny; could easily be polished up.
